Mark B. Shaw has over 35 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry with a focus on strategic planning, operations, technology implementation, process improvement and product support.

Mark was most recently Senior Vice President and Chief Services Officer for COCC where he was responsible for COCC's client services division which encompassed all aspects of the company's technology products including customer relations and support, client training, system conversions and direction for strategic products and services. COCC, located in Avon, Connecticut is the 7th largest financial institution data center in the United States.

He is an experienced strategic and technology planning facilitator in the financial services and information systems industries and was responsible for starting COCC’s Professional Services Group where he advised community banks and credit unions on a variety of topics ranging from profitability, customer management, bank technology strategies as well as providing project management and technology implementation.

Prior to COCC, Mark held a number of senior management positions with community banks throughout New England where he was responsible for IT, Operations, Branch Administration, Regulatory and Legal Compliance and Project Management.   His experience includes core system evaluations and conversions with a heavy focus on process improvement to obtain operational efficiencies.  Mark has been responsible for several bank merger and acquisition fulfillments.

At NBS, Mark will assist clients with strategic technology plans, merger and acquisition strategies, performance improvement, regulatory and compliance matters, technology implementation, E-channel service delivery and project management.

 

Mark has spoken on banking and technology matters to the Connecticut and Massachusetts Bankers Associations, Connecticut Community Bankers Association, American Community Bankers Association, American Bankers Association and a number of trade and association management summits during his career.

 

Mark is a graduate of the Eastern Connecticut State University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in political science.  In addition, Mark holds an advanced degree in project management.
