Information and Reports

Periodically, we will post speeches, articles and research studies here for your information:

Our President, Tom Grottke, was asked to present to the Connecticut Community Bank executives attending the 2010 annual meeting of the Connecticut Community Bankers Association in Manchester, VT on June 11th.

Tom Grottke was quoted in Banker & Tradesman weekly newpaper and the CT Commercial Record early in 2010 discussing the movement of many banks to expand their mortgage banking business in the wake of the mortgage industry changes.

NEBSG partnered with its affiliate, The Wheatfield Group, LLC, to present a half-day seminar on June 9, 2009 for the Massachusetts Bankers Association on Problem Asset Workout and Resolution.  Tom’s brother, Gary Grottke, is a 30-plus-year veteran in real estate development, workout and large income producing/hospitality property management.  This seminar, see presentation slides below, was focused on minimizing losses from problem loans and OREO and improving the management and resolution of such properties.

Jim, Mark and Tom presented a seminar on residential lending strategy for the Massachusetts Bankers Association in May 2009.  The seminar discussed the opportunity banks have to resond to the “Continental Shelf” shifts in mortgage banking and residential mortgage lending.  See seminar handouts below.

Jim Wilson is quoted in recent Banker & Tradesman article.  See below.

In March, Jim Wilson discusses how a residential lending strategy can drive an active and successful consumer based relationship banking program.

Our work with our clients in January has raised the question, where will revenue come from in 2009?  See our new article below.

Jim Wilson comments on recent mortgage pricing increases and their impact on mortgage customers and banks.

Currently, a recent speech given by Tom Grottke and Jennifer Healy with Mr. John DeMauro, Regional Director, with our Business Partner, Sage Data Security, Inc. is available below.

Tom and John also recently published an article attached below on the Information Security Officer (ISO) in a community bank environment.

Below is a reprint of a popular article written by Tom and published by The Commercial Record, Where Have All the Deposits Gone?
